Shopping cart system FastCentrik for PEMIC BOOKS a.s. wins at the 2011 Microsoft Awards competition [press release, 8 April 2011]
6 April 2011, Prague – NetDirect s.r.o. has won the competition for the best IT project of the year in the category of software and web application development – web solutions.
Within the Microsoft Awards competition, IT projects based on new Microsoft technologies are competing annually. Results of the 13th year's contest were announced on Wednesday 6 April in Prague.
NetDirect entered the competition with the implementation of sophisticated electronic e-commerce solution for PEMIC BOOKS and its trading partners. PEMIC BOOKS is the leading book distributor on the Czech and Slovak market and operates its own e-shops Family bookshop and Bookcentre, using e-commerce platform FastCentrik.
The solution from NetDirect brought not only a rapid increase of the customer’s turnover, but also significant savings thanks to lower personnel demands. For FastCentrik it is already the seventh victory achieved in competitions not only within the Czech Republic, but also internationally.

The award was accepted by Jan Svoboda, NetDirect CEO, and Pavel Kramný, project manager for strategic customers, who was the head of the winning contract. The prize was handed over to our representatives by CEO of the Czech Microsoft branch office, Roman Cabálek.
Ing. Jan Svoboda greeted the victory with enthusiasm: “I can't express how happy I am. I think it wasn't easy for the jury to decide. All the contestants should have been winners because their solutions were exceptional as well and allow customers to increase their profit and reduce costs. It would be nice if we able to repeat our last year's success from Washington during this summer’s WPC in Los Angeles. The first prize goes to all the people in NetDirect because together we make great solutions and we distance ourselves from our competitors thanks to continuous improvement.”
